Re "Soldiers shouldn't be used as pawns in shutdown fight" (Editorials, Oct. 10): Your editorial once again gives President Barack Obama a free pass. He is absolutely and totally responsible for these families failing to receive their death benefits. He is the commander in chief, and a poor one at that for failing to provide for families whose loved ones sacrificed their lives for this nation.
If he can unilaterally change or ignore laws, he can find the money for these families. How sad that Fisher House has to do what a president will not do. We should all be thankful for people like Ken Fisher. He sets an example President Obama should emulate.
