Re "Downtown eatery shuts doors" (Our Region, Oct. 9): McCormick & Schmick's replacement by Claim Jumper speaks badly of Sacramento. McCormick & Schmick's served superior seafood prepared in a refined manner. Claim Jumper serves mediocre grub in obscenely excessive portions. Claim Jumper epitomizes the vulgar American motto of excess: If a little bit is good, a lot must be great. That's simply wrong thinking.
If McCormick & Schmick's couldn't succeed and Claim Jumper does, what does that say about Sacramento diners?
