Sunny and dry for a week in Sacramento

The National Weather Service is forecasting a string of sunny days in the Sacramento region.

Today’s high is expected to be 77 degrees in Sacramento, which is four degrees below normal for mid-October. Skies are forecast to be clear with only a slight wind rustling leaves.

A low pressure system is expected to drop into Nevada, which could cause winds to kick up in the Sacramento Valley on Sunday. Still, forecasters are only calling for breezy conditions on Sunday to 7 mph.

Temperatures could rise to the low 80s by Thursday. The 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region from the NWS:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 77. Calm wind becoming west southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 51. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 77. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 52. Light and variable wind.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 78. North northwest wind 3 to 7 mph.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 51.

Columbus Day: Sunny, with a high near 79.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 51.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 80.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 52.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 80.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 52.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 81.
