Social Interest Solutions, a Sacramento-based nonprofit that utilizes technology and policy reform advocacy to foster public access to public/private health and social services, has named information technology veteran John Caterham its first president and CEO.
Caterham, who will assume his duties Oct. 31, will oversee strategic planning, daily operations, financial performance and overall management of the organization that aims to modernize enrollment in public programs for millions of low-income people.
SIS has been ramping up to efforts to implement enrollments under terms of the federal Affordable Care Act. SIS said Caterham was hired following a nationwide executive search.
I have been impressed with the vision, passion and dramatic impact Social Interest Solutions has had in shaping health policy and creating more consumer-friendly and efficient enrollment processes and systems, Caterham said. SIS has gained national attention for its track record of innovation in this arena.
Caterham has more than 30 years of experience in developing and managing operations and consulting practices for government and the private sector. He most recently spent six years at Falls Church, Va.-based Computer Sciences Corp., overseeing management of a wide range of health coverage-related services in New York state.
He also has served a managing director with CH2M Hill, the massive $13 billion engineering design, construction and consulting company.
