Mild temperatures expected for the weekend in Sacramento

The National Weather Service is predicting a pleasant fall weekend for Sacramento, with temperatures in the mid-70s.

Saturday’s high temperature will top out at 76 degrees. Overnight lows will dip to 50 degrees.

“We are going to have a sunny, but cool weekend,” said Cindy Matthews, a forecaster with the weather service in Sacramento.

Matthews said temperatures are slightly below normal for this time of year. “Normal is right around 80 degrees,” she said.

The detailed, seven-day forecast for the Sacramento region from the NWS:

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 78. Light north northwest wind increasing to 6 to 11 mph in the morning.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 50. North northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light northwest in the evening.

Columbus Day: Sunny, with a high near 79. Northwest wind 3 to 6 mph.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 52.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 80.

Tuesday night: Clear, with a low around 48.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 80.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 51.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 80.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 81.
