Wal-Mart continues to hire for its Neighborhood Market’s new Woodland location as the retailer works toward an early 2014 grand opening.

The retail giant is hiring from the ground up for the 35,000-square-foot location at 215 California St.

“We’re hiring (for positions) from associate to supervisors,” said store manager Carolina Pratt at Wal-Mart’s temporary hiring center at 259 California St., just doors away from the new site. “We’re excited to have the store here.”

Pratt and her team are accepting applications from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the hiring center and interviewing for positions.

Job-seekers can also apply online at Wal-Mart’s career’s site, www.walmartstores.com/careers.

Many of the estimated 95 full- and part-time positions – from merchandise supervisors to inventory and customer service managers, stockers, cashiers and sales personnel – will staff the store as early as this month to prepare the market for opening.

The retailer has also said it will offer jobs to qualified veterans honorably discharged in the last 12 months.

The California Street site will join a Neighborhood Market that opened across town in June at 1250 E. Gibson Road, at County Fair Mall.
