Lead ammo law only applies to hunting

Re "Brown signs ban on lead ammo" (Page A1, Oct. 12) and "Worth Repeating" (Capitol & California, Oct. 12): The quote from Matt Rexroad is a great example of the misinformation campaign used by those who chose to distort the meaning and intent of the Second Amendment, and is clearly intended to promote the irrational fear that reasonable controls on civilian access to weapons and ammunition are making the country "weak."

As noted in the attribution, the legislation only applies to ammunition sold for hunting, not that used by the Marines, other branches of the armed forces or law enforcement. This is the text that should have been in bold typeface, since his comments are only "worth repeating" if they accompanied by a "fact check" commentary.
