Re "Davis adopts new bicycle fines after public outcry" (Our Region, Oct. 15): The city of Davis has taken the wrong solution to the biking problem in Davis. Instead of reducing fines, why not instruct officers to enforce the laws?
I'm tired of governments finding an easy way to allow citizens to not be personally responsible. The city has no problem raising taxes on law-abiding citizens. Yet if the city enforced laws and collecting fines from those breaking laws, maybe tax increases wouldn't be necessary.
