Re "Capital's marathon may get Kenya stars" (Page A1, Oct. 15): I enjoy cheering friends on as they run the California International Marathon and think that if the Kenyans came to Sacramento, it would boost the race to even more prestige. I also think it's great for the Sacramento economy.
But after the race, there is so much litter on the race course, it's ridiculous. I don't expect racers to throw their empties in garbage cans, but I would like to see some of the entrance fees used to pay a person or two to walk along the course and collect their litter.
