More mild weather in store for the Sacramento region

A high pressure system over the eastern Pacific Ocean will bring the Sacramento region more mild fall weather, according to the National Weather Service.

Cool mornings and warm afternoons are forecast for the area. Today’s high is expected to be 81 degrees in Sacramento.

Not much change in the weather pattern is projected through the weekend and into early next week, according to government weather forecasters.

Look for light winds starring Thursday afternoon. The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region from the NWS:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 49. Calm wind.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 50. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Light and variable wind.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 48.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 82.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 80.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 79.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 50.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 79.
