Chronicling civil-service life for California state workers

The REAL reason there’s a pension crisis

Published: Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 - 11:29 am

In this video clip, British comedian Andy Zaltzman explains how science produced “too many old people living in the world, staying not dead, living for longer and longer.” And THAT, he says, ruined the global economy with “too many pensions.”

( Warning: While some words in this 1-minute, 48-second video are deleted, it still has language that might offend some people. Ditto for the ideas expressed -- depending on your point of view.)

Thanks to blog user G for passing along this amusing clip from a 2012 episode of John Oliver’s “New York Stand-up Show” on Comedy Central.
