Re "Raymond recalls low times" (Our Region, Oct. 18): Congrats Jonathan Raymond for moving to Massachusetts. There, your kids will get to go to school with your neighbors via the good-old "yellow bus" and they'll be in new or modernized school campuses that feature far smaller class sizes. Teachers there won't have to beg families for supplies and principals will have sufficient support staff to complete their administrative, staff management and student relations roles.
Unlike Sacramento, they'll have a school library and regular physical education, art, and music; your tween will have industrial arts, and home economics classes. And when they get sick, an onsite school nurse will call you.
As I hear of a friend's East Sacramento classroom with 32 kindergarteners and one teacher, I, too, dream of Massachusetts.
