Re "Probe of schools leaders drags on" (Our Region, Oct. 20): San Juan School Board members should be ashamed of themselves for wasting hundred of thousands of dollars hanging on to Superintendent Glynn Thompson. They are paying him, his replacement and attorneys, but to what end?? By this time, they could have had a new superintendent, hopefully a familar, tried and true one, who could try to build back morale in the district.
Where is the $185,000 for this investigation coming from? Students' educational needs? Teachers' salaries? The reserve fund? There is no excuse for prolonging this situation. Glynn Thompson needs to be dismissed now. The board is derelict in its duty to act in the best interests of the district.
