Giving back pay to federal workers is a big mistake. This gives Congress no consequences for its foolishness of closing down the government.
Better federal workers should have come back angry and broke saying thanks for nothing, boss.
The rest of the 800,000 federal workers getting no pay and feeling the pinch should get angry too and think about who is representing them when they vote next year. Making matters worse, the back log of federal work will be cleared at taxpayer expense through overtime pay on top of the back pay.
