A U.S. Chamber of Commerce “Hiring Our Heroes” job fair for service veterans and military spouses will be held Wednesday at the Lions Gate Hotel & Conference Center in McClellan Park.
Co-sponsored by University of Phoenix, the event will begin with a 9 a.m. employment workshop, followed by job fair activities involving more than 40 employers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The workshop includes resume building, job search tools and advice on interviewing.
Registration can be done at https://hoh.greatjob.net. Walk-in job seekers are welcome, but military veterans must provide proof of service.
Officials with the “Hiring Our Heroes” program, launched in March 2011, say that more than 1,200 companies have hired thousands of veterans and military spouses at hundreds of hiring fairs.
