Re "Mental health's revolving door" (Dan Morain, Oct. 20): Mental illness systems are too often impossible to access even by someone who needs and wants services. Mental health laws and regulations create a stretch of land mines small and large that prevent the mentally ill from assessing help as Morain's column show in spades.
Just as we create ramps for other disabilities, lets install bureaucratic ramps for mentally ill citizens. Remove these hidden traps waiting to trip them up. Let's make life more bearable for victims of these biological brain diseases while we search for a cure.
