What: Spend an evening with Michael Pollan, UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism professor and food writer, famously of “The Omnivore’s Dilemma.”

Harvest fun

What: The Butte County Farm Bureau’s “Ag Tourism 1st Sundays” program focuses on harvest. Tour 16 farms and wineries on your own or in a chartered van.

When: Noon-5 p.m. Sunday

Where: Throughout Butte County; two pick-up points in Chico and Oroville

Cost: Free self-guided tours; charter tours, $50 per person or $80 per couple (includes lunch and tastings)
