Sacramento weather for trick-or-treating looks sweet

Perfect trick-or-treating weather is forecast for the Sacramento region tonight as a high pressure system remains in control, providing mild temperatures and clear skies.

Temperatures are expected to be in the 60s tonight when youngsters go door-to-door in pursuit of candy. Today’s high is expected to be a pleasant 74 degrees.

The National Weather Service is predicting that a weak trough of low pressure could move through the region over the weekend, bringing cooler temperatures, breezes from the north and perhaps some showers along the mountains north of Lake Tahoe. Sunday’s high temperature in Sacramento is expected to be 68 degrees.

The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region from the NWS:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 74. Light and variable wind.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 47. Light and variable wind.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 48. Light and variable wind.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 76. Light and variable wind.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 47.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 68.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.

Monday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 43.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 68.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 69.
