Re "Firms bristle at new zoning charge" (Our Region, Oct. 31): Big money rules Sacramento County planning. Now that the Teichert and Granite gravel pits have run out, they want the area rezoned to allow housing development, running out the long time business in the area.
Certainly times change. If the land use is to change, and if Sacramento County were fair, it would require that new development pay for relocating the businesses to a suitable area as a condition of the zoning change.
