Re "Arming airport screeners is not a good solution" (Editorials, Nov. 6): As someone who recently purchased a replacement shotgun for hunting I can confirm that there are plenty of checks and balances in place for firearms purchases. I'm all for the background checks, verifications, etc. but feel that any more laws are only kneejerk reactions by legislators/journalists. If increased legislation worked then by now we'd be a perfect society. The last time I checked we aren't.
