Leras disses Scully's tenure as DA

Re "3rd DA candidate enters race" (Our Region, Nov. 7): Prosecutor Todd Leras claims that the Sacramento County District Attorney's office “isn’t working fine.” Jan Scully has run that office for almost 20 years at a level that not only brought her recognition from the State of California but also from the National District Attorney’s Association when they elected her president of that organization.

Her innovative programs, like the multi-cultural committee and the “Community Prosecutor” are viewed as model programs nationwide. Throughout those years, she has remained dedicated and focused on violent crime, including domestic violence.

I don’t know why Leras left that office, but I bet there is a story behind it. It is also clear that he does not know what he is talking about.
