A Wednesday (Nov. 13) ribbon-cutting ceremony will mark the opening of a Walmart Supercenter store in the Rocklin Crossings shopping center at Sierra College Boulevard and Interstate 80.

The ribbon-cutting for the plaza anchor is set for 7:30 a.m. The 191,000-square-foot store will be open from 6 a.m. to midnight seven days a week.

The store will have a full- and part-time work force of about 400. Walmart said about 85 new jobs were created as a result of a move out of the former store site at 1400 Lead Hill Blvd., in Roseville to Rocklin.

The Rocklin Walmart will be stocked with grocery items and general merchandise, including apparel, electronics, toys, sporting goods and lawn/garden items. A pharmacy also will operate on-site.

Grand-opening festivities also include Walmart grant presentations to various Rocklin community groups.
