Forecasters are predicting a pleasant holiday weekend.
“We’re looking at mid-70s for the Sacramento area this weekend with fairly light winds,” said Stefanie Henry, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
Saturday’s high temperature is expected to reach 75 degrees, according to the weather service. Sunday’s high will hit 73 degrees.
The region will stay rain-free, at least through Monday afternoon when a system is expected to bring a slight chance of rain showers. The skies should clear by Wednesday, shifting the region back to a dry pattern.
Henry called the dry spell “unfortunate.”
“Right now, Sacramento is at 28 percent of normal for rainfall with 0.55 inches. Normally, that’s 2 inches,” she said.
