LAX gunman's religion, whatever it is, wasn't relevant

Re "Gunman's religion absent" (Letters, Nov. 6): Letter writer Metwalli B. Amer seems to be put off that no mention was made of the LAX gunman's religion and wants to know why. The reason is quite simple, the gunman was not screaming "God is Great" while he was shooting innocent people.

In fact, at this time it is unknown if he is Christian or atheist, but I can tell you if he believed in God he would know his fate for his act would be a trip to hell -- unlike Muslim terrorists who kill people for being "non-believers" and believe they are going to meet Allah. Yes there are crazy people in all religions, but the Muslim religion seems to have the market cornered in this area.
