Published: Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 - 8:13 pm

What happened with the deep Internet marijuana drug ring case that resulted in arresting Matthew Gillum of Loomis and Jolene Chan of Roseville?

– Kat, Rocklin

Matthew Gillum and Jolene Chan are awaiting trial in federal court in Sacramento, according to online court records.

The two were arrested in July in connection with an alleged marijuana-trafficking operation that shipped money by mail. They are accused of conspiracy, distribution of marijuana, unlawful use of the mails and conducting their financial affairs so as to avoid currency transaction reporting requirements.

Gillum, identified in court documents as the brains of the operation, is being held in Sacramento County Jail and is ineligible for bail.

Chan is free on bond.
