Re "Calderon alleges FBI retaliation" (Page A1, Nov. 14): What a sad state of affairs. Now Sen. Ron Calderon is accusing the FBI of retaliating against him, because he didn't want to cooperate with the FBI in a sting operation against Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg and Sen. Kevin de Leon. Does Mr. Calderon now see himself as a victim? Does he hope that his federal filing will take the heat off him, despite rather convincing evidence of his alleged wrongdoing? This whole episode confirms once more why Californians have no faith in their lawmakers. Why then do we keep sending the same people to Sacramento year in, year out?
