A furious comeback led by the Kings’ bench couldn’t overcome a hot shooting night from the Memphis Grizzlies in what was a 97-86 loss for the Kings Sunday at Sleep Train Arena.

The Kings’ starting lineup shot 12 of 32. Kings coach Michael Malone went to his bench in the third quarter after a slow start from the starters and a 20-point deficit was cut to 82-79 with 6:28 to play.

But the Grizzlies (5-5) answered with a 7-0 run and coasted to the win, shooting 55.6 percent for the game.

No starters scored in double figures for the Kings as the teams hot 37.9 percent. Travis Outlaw led Sacramento (2-7) with 18 points.

The Kings have lost seven of their last eight games.
