Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. will host grand-opening ceremonies today at its new shop at 5900 Florin Road in Sacramento.

Doors open at 5:30 a.m. with prizes, giveaways and various festivities planned.

Typically, customers camp outside Krispy Kreme stores the night before a shop opening. For that reason, Krispy Kreme officials said entertainment will be provided on-site the night before the Florin Road store opening.

Prizes include dozens of free glazed doughnuts periodically within the course of one year.

Headquartered in Winston-Salem, N.C., 76-year-old Krispy Kreme has more than 700 shops worldwide. Its products are sold in about 10,000 grocery, convenience and mass merchant stores in the United States.
