Two trucks crashed early Wednesday morning, shutting down part of I-5 and delaying Elk Grove commuters.

Update: Northbound Interstate 5 reopens after crash

Published: Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 - 6:27 am

Northbound Interstate 5 at Laguna Boulevard in Elk Grove has reopened after being closed for several hours due to a crash involving a pickup and two large trucks.

The crashes occurred around 4 a.m. Spilled petroleum products had to be cleaned up before all lanes could be reopened on that stretch of I-5. Minor injuries were reported. All lanes were reported open to traffic shortly before 2:30 p.m.

In addition, at 7:30 a.m., traffic was snarled at the ramp from northbound Highway 99 to westbound Highway 50 due to a jackknifed big rig. The transition ramp reopened at about 8 a.m.
