Re "California should stiffen its resolve on health care" (Editorials, Nov. 20): Elections have consequences and the Affordable Care Act resulted from that election. The health reform act wasn't read by most who voted for it. But the blame can't be on the Republicans since not one voted for the unread act passed by the Democrat majority in Congress. The cancelled health care policies resulted from the ACA requirement for comprehensive coverage that includes medical services many didn't need, such as maternity care for the elderly. People have been slow to reapply for medical coverage because few can afford policies meeting the ACA requirements.
