History turned for everyone on the day JFK died

Published: Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 - 10:10 am

Re "JFK lore wears thin for some" (Marcos Breton, Nov. 20): Regarding Marcos Breton's holding of President John Kennedy to a different standard: Exactly who has, in the history of humanity governing itself, delivered on the hope he inspired? And are we not still on that same hard road as in November of 1963? Let us have our idealized and romanticized memories. We are not rewriting history with them; we are just remembering a time that changed us. As Americans, whether we are from the barrios, the suburbs or ivory towers, history turned for us on that day. We are just remembering.
