Re "Ridership drops on Amtrak's Capitol line" (Page A1, Nov. 26): Nobody likes the new Sacramento rail stationt, an atrocity of torture for pedestrians of all ages. All this because even when the city thought the Kings might build an arena nearby, nobody thought about a rational pedestrian route toward downtown.
Now everyone who commutes via the Capital Corridor has an extra quarter-mile walk, all to facilitate some mysterious holes in the ground in preparation for unknown construction. The golf carts are only suitable for the golfing and leisure set, and meant for the disabled. What a mess!
