Audubon bird counts scheduled in Folsom and Sacramento

Published: Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 - 11:04 am

Birders are invited to participate in the Sacramento and Folsom Audubon bird counts.

The Sacramento area count takes place Dec. 22 and the count in the Folsom area occurs Dec. 29. The counts provide valuable information on bird population trends and effects of habitat changes.

The counts are part of a nationwide program of the National Audubon Society in which birders tally bird populations around Christmas.

Birders interested in participating in the Sacramento count can contact Mark Cudney at mcudney@aol.com and Chris Conrad at conardc@gmail.com or (916) 203-1610 for the Folsom count.

Call The Bee’s Bill Lindelof, (916) 321-1079.
