SolarCity hiring at its Granite Bay operations center

Published: Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 - 1:06 pm

San Mateo-based SolarCity Corp. plans to hire 60 new employees in the next 60 days at its Granite Bay operations center scheduled to open by the end of the month.

SolarCity said new hires will rise to 100 over the next year. The 60 open positions are for sales personnel, and some hires have already been finalized.

The local hires are part of a statewide expansion that includes 10 new operations centers and filling at least 260 new positions. The company already has more than 2,100 employees in California.

In August, SolarCity announced an agreement to acquire Paramount Solar, picking up its local operations, including offices in Granite Bay, in a transaction reportedly valued at about $120 million. Under terms of that purchase agreement, Paramount agreed to function under the SolarCity name.
