Sacramento woman pleads guilty to counterfeit drug trafficking conspiracy

A Sacramento woman has pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiring to traffic in counterfeit drugs.

Susan Yvonne Eversoll, 46, entered the plea Thursday before U.S. District Judge Troy L. Nunley.

An investigation was undertaken after the FBI discovered numerous online advertisements for counterfeit drugs closely resembling genuine Viagra and Cialis tablets, according to a federal Department of Justice news release.

On Nov. 1, 2012, law enforcement officers, posing as customers and responding to a Craigslist advertisement, set up a controlled purchase from Eversoll and a co-defendant. The FBI has since seized a total of 5,652 counterfeit pills of Viagra and 495 counterfeit pills of Cialis, authorities said.

Eversoll is to appear before Judge Nunley for sentencing Feb. 20.
