Postgame notes: Kings fall apart in the fourth quarter

The Kings appeared on their way to ending their losing streak until their offense failed them late again.

The Los Angeles Lakers closed the game on an 13-3 run over the final 3:35 to hand the Kings a sixth consecutive defeat, 106-100, Friday night at Sleep Train Arena.

The losing streak is a season worst for the Kings.

The Kings were outscored 25-13 in the fourth quarter.

DeMarcus Cousins and Ben McLemore each had 20 points for the Kings (4-13). That was a season high for the the rookie, McLemore. Cousins also had 11 rebounds.

Pau Gasol and Jodie Meeks each had 19 points for the Lakers (10-9), who were playing the last game before Kobe Bryant returns Sunday in Los Angeles against Toronto.
