At-risk homeowners in the Sacramento area and throughout the Central Valley can participate in a free online/hotline mortgage-assistance program next week.
The event is a collaboration of HOPE NOW, the voluntary, private-sector alliance of mortgage servicers, investors, mortgage insurers and nonprofit counselors, and Springboard, a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-approved nonprofit counseling agency.
From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today through Thursday, homeowners in the Central Valley (stretching south to Bakersfield) can go to event.hopenow.com or call (888) 845-0418 to connect with housing counselors and mortgage servicers who can access required documents for loan modifications, short sales and other mortgage options
Mortgage servicers scheduled to participate include Chase, Citi, HSBC, Nationstar, Ocwen, PNC, Select Portfolio Servicing, Seterus, SunTrust and Wells Fargo. Homeowners with mortgages not held by the scheduled vendors can still talk with a housing counselor.
Homeowners also will have the option to apply for Keep Your Home California, the $2 billion state-managed, federally funded foreclosure prevention program.
Call The Bee’s Mark Glover, (916) 321-1184.
