Teach parents to eat healthier foods

Published: Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 - 10:12 am

Re "Health watch" (The Buzz, Nov. 26): I recently wrote about the health issues related to fast-food consumption by youth and young adults, and I agree that unhealthy eating is a national problem that needs to be solved. If our unhealthy eating pattern isn't changed, it will continue to cause major health difficulties, such as obesity. I believe that the first step is to educate the parents and guardians of children. Since children tend to look up to adults as role models, teaching the the parents to make healthy eating choices will encourage kids to do the same thing and develop a healthy lifestyle.
