Re "Billboard exposes ugly biases" (Marcus Breton, Dec. 8): In this opinion piece, Marcus Breton discusses the controversy of a billboard of a Muslim girl wrapped in the arms of her love, a white American soldier. Most Americans thought this to be treason due to our history with Iran. Breton said it best when he stated that the public was jarred at the sight of a serviceman with a Muslim woman and that the world could only hope that in the future, this is not seen as a big deal. This would be my hope as well. If this had not been just a billboard but a real couple, who are we to pass judgment on others in love? People can't help whom they fall in love with, and everyone deserves the right to be happy with their decisions in life. We can only hope the harsh judgments and criticism will eventually subside.
