Man arrested on suspicion of burglary; reportedly brought infant child along

Published: Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 - 10:48 pm

A Solano County man apparently took along his infant child while he and a partner burglarized a residential shop Monday evening.

Paul McGraw, 34, of Dixon was being held at the Solano County Jail on suspicion of felony burglary and conspiracy, and a misdemeanor charge of willful cruelty of a child. Bond was set at $45,000.

Dean Forrest French, 37, of Vacaville, was also arrested for suspicion of burglary and conspiracy, as well as probation violation. He was being held with no bond at the Solano County Jail due to the probation violation.

Shortly after 5 p.m., the Solano County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a resident in the 8300 block of Pedrick Road that he had found two men breaking into a shop on his property. The resident told the dispatcher that he had managed to detain one suspect, while the other suspect fled.

Dixon police officers who were assisting the sheriff’s office in responding to the call found the suspect detained by the resident, who was later identified as McGraw. The officers also found French about a half mile away from the home, and detained him as well.

When Solano County Sheriff deputies arrived later, they learned that McGraw had driven his own vehicle to the burglary site. Inside, deputies found not only items from the residential shop, but also McGraw’s infant child. Solano County Child Protective Services was called and the baby was released to them.
