Seattle chooses Folsom company for data center management

Published: Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 - 11:57 am

Rackwise Inc., the Folsom-based software development, sales and marketing firm, says the city of Seattle’s Department of Information Technology has chosen a patented Rackwise solution “to manage information technology assets and infrastructure across all departments and agencies serving the city.”

While no dollar-value of the agreement was disclosed, the news comes on the heels of a third-quarter filing that saw Rackwise report a net loss of $4.6 million in the first nine months of this year. That was accompanied by an SEC filing in which the company said it has limited cash on hand but is continuing efforts to grow revenue.

Guy Archbold, Rackwise‘s CEO, called Seattle’s decision to use the company’s data center infrastructure management technology “extremely gratifying.”

Rackwise moved its corporate offices from San Francisco to Folsom in 2012. That move was accompanied by the closure of offices in Los Angeles and Las Vegas to concentrate its operations in Folsom.
