Re "Raising minimum wage would aid many without harming the economy" (Viewpoints, Dec. 2): For many people, the current minimum wage is not high enough for people to support themselves or their families. Many workers, especially in retail trade, have a hard time making ends meet and cannot support themselves. America has become much richer than in the past, but we still have not raised the minimum wage enough for people to live full and healthy lives. When people work full time and still have to rely on food stamps to feed themselves and their families, it shows we have a flawed system and that the minimum wage need to be increased.
