She finds pay for first job disappointing

Re "Raising minimum wage would aid many without harming the economy" (Viewpoints, Dec. 3): Beginning in October, I started my first real job in Folsom. I love my job and the people I work with, but the one thing I do not love about my job is what I am getting paid. I work 40 hours for every paycheck I get, but I can never seem to make more than $250. It seems really unfair. I work hard and am a great employee, but I only earn $8 an hour (minus the regular deductions). When I first heard about the federal government raising the minimum wage to $10 an hour, I got excited. The fact that this would affect almost 60 percent of Americans who work behind a cash register astonishes me. This needs to be done.
