Rudy Gay scored 26 points in his Sleep Train Arena debut and DeMarcus Cousins had 21 points and 10 rebounds as the Kings knocked off the Houston Rockets, 106-91, Sunday at Sleep Train Arena.
The Kings (7-15) had lost two in a row by playing some of their worst defense of the season but held the NBA's best-scoring team to 41.3 percent shooting.
Isaiah Thomas added 19 points and eight assists for the Kings, who begin a four-game road trip Tuesday in Charlotte.
James Harden led the Rockets (16-9) with 25 points. Chandler Parsons had 19 points and five assists. Dwight Howard had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
