Re "Atheists 'Out of the Closet' in new billboard campaign" (Our Region, Dec. 2): I was raises in a church and have fond memories of the love and sense of community I found there. However, from an early age, the teachings of the Bible didn't ring true to me. I would sit in the pew fearing I was a bad person for questioning my pastor and the scriptures. As I got older, I was able to see that faith in any particular religion or higher power didn't make someone better or worse. People believe because deep down, it feels right. For me, it feels right deep down not to believe. Since accepting that about myself, I have been happier. I hope this billboard campaign will let others who feel like I did know they are not alone or crazy. They are still good people.
