Obituary for homeless veteran is noteworthy
Re "Respect at the end for troubled vet" (Page B4, Dec. 10): Every time I think about the obituary for Frank Howard that was published recently in The Sacramento Bee, my eyes fill with tears. Robert Davila did a tremendous job of weaving the story of this homeless veteran with the story of a patriotic and noteworthy service being performed by the Dignity Memorial Homeless Veteran Burial Program in cooperation with the U.S. Veterans Administration and other government agencies and volunteer organizations. As a veteran, I am thankful that The Bee was willing to dedicate the time of a reporter and the space in the newspaper to bring this story to the public.
