Re "Sacramento already has a college" (Another view, Dec. 3): Mikael Anderson and Ron Brown have good points and detailed evidence to show that California State University, Sacramento has a top-notch college for engineering and the city will not need Joe Matthew's idea of a Cal Poly campus. I would believe that Sacramento does not need another college, but the authors have some flaws in their writing that would make me ponder. The authors do not provide statistics or other evidence from Cal Poly's perspective. Cal Poly might have better engineering programs and produced better result than Sacramento State, but we would not know from the opinion piece. Also, if Sacramento States business programs have better results than its engineering programs, then we should focus on business at CSUS and invest in the Cal Poly campus for engineering.
