Published: Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 - 8:51 pm

An 18-year-old woman was wounded this evening in a drive-by shooting in Sacramento’s Strawberry Manor neighborhood.

The shooting occurred shortly before 7 p.m. at Western and Cathcart avenues.

Sacramento police spokeswoman Officer Michele Gigante said the woman was shot in the upper body and was taken to a hospital, but the wound is not thought to be life-threatening.

Gigante said the suspect was described as an African American male, wearing a white T-shirt and red sweats. She said the shooting may have been gang-related.
