No outcry to vote on city funding for arts center

Re "City to put up $5 million for arts center" (Our Region, Dec. 18): The City Council voted 6-0 to make a $5 million investment in Sacramento's cultural institutions, but there has not been an outcry that this expenditure should have been submitted to voters for their approval. Where does the Sacramento Taxpayers Opposed to Pork (STOP) on this dollar outlay? The council members did the right thing on this issue as they did on the arena issue, and they didn't cost taxpayers the money for an election.
