Clear skies and mild weather predicted for Sacramento

Clear skies and mild weather are in the forecast for Sacramento.

Today’s high temperature is expected to hit 64 degrees downtown, according to the National Weather Service. The morning’s patchy fog will clear out by 10 a.m., leaving the region with sunny skies.

“It’ll be nice,” said weather service forecaster Jason Clapp. “but really not a whole lot to talk about weather-wise.”

The region will see a few clouds Friday, but the skies will remain clear on the weekend. Looking ahead to next week, Clapp said, “it’s going to be dry.”

Here’s the seven-day forecast:

Thursday: Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 64. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Clear, with a low around 38. Calm wind.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 61. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 40. North northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 64. Light and variable wind.

Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 39.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 64.

Sunday Night: Clear, with a low around 37.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 64.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 40.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 65.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39.

New Year’s Day: Sunny, with a high near 63.
